I bought it in Germany, in the distributor for Europe and although there have been few official services, Chevrolet in Spain there are 5, the closest I have it to 170 km

Because there is no distinctive SS ?, I was told that it is because of what happened in the last century. I ordered them from GM and they sent it to me, I was able to install the front and the rear, but the ones in the seats have a lot of work, also the front spoiler that makes the most ground effect. Everything was sent to me super fast and without problems.

I think, it’s because of the DRL regulations in the EU. The worst thing is, that they did not cover the missing lights, there is a hole where they should be. 290 km/h is no problem with the stock car🙂 as long as it holds up. I have the shudder, and some minor problems, but I hope they will be cured soon. How is your trans holding up? |

No idea how DRL regulations can allow the eyebrow LED but at the same time not the other stripe LED, although this isn't the first time I'm baffled by some road rules. I don't think I'll be able do 180 mph anywhere 'round here, so I'll take your word for the top speed, it should be roughly the same because of the same gearing and wheel/tire diameter, supercharger or not. Might be a tiny bit more if redline is set higher (I'd need to check), but then the car also weighs more, so who knows. Okay, the A8. Since chances are the trans setup is the same in the '18 as before, save maybe for the initial fluid fill, I tried not to hammer on the A8 too hard initially, only a few WOT shifts and little cruising in V4 mode especially on inclines. Then I had a flush with the latest approved trans fluid at 1500 miles and got it tuned at 2000 miles. AFM is now turned off in the tune, slip tables are zeroed and shift points adjusted slightly. I hope it won't fail on me with these precautions. That said, I'm very curious about this magical promised Q1 2019 fix, although I probably won't qualify because of the tune, worst case I'll upgrade the torque converter and that should definitely be the end of it. Hope your dealer will take care of you and this becomes a thing of the past. On a related note, I'm not sure why people dump so much cr*p on the 8L90, it feels like some can only think in extremes. I understand the A10 is a redesign and shifts faster, but this is no slouch either, I have almost zero complaints at the moment. Sometimes the first shift from R to D is a bit clunky when it's cold outside, but apart from that, all shifts are smooth in normal mode, flat terrain or uphill or downhill, there's no gear hunting, upshifts and downshifts are taken just as I want them, and performance shift mode is also pretty good, crisper and keeping revs high as necessary. Were it not for this darned shudder, I'm sure people would praise it, not up to A10 "holy grail" levels, but still...

2019 Facelift version is still in the stars for Europe, due to the new WLTP emissions standards. Most dealers over here had to register their cars before the 1st of October in order to be able to sell them under the old standards.

Hi Guys,
The Camaro is doing fine, just hit 40000km. Went for my second maintenance service last Friday and they announced that they are stopping their Corvette/Camaro branch. So that leaves hundreds of customers in the dark about where to go now and how the warranty will be handled as it was the only dealer in Belgium. The nearest one is in Luxembourg (more then 200km's away) It was a sad day for the employees who were fired and for all the (future) customers. Nick |

That's the sad part. The dealer was offered to become a major distributor for Europe from GM. The owner in his 60's-70's said no interest, I'm too old (although his son might pick up the business) and that got the ball rolling to the point where he said screw it, I sell everything. There's one investor but take over negotiations are not going smooth and now without help from GM.
I wonder how GM is going to handle this if the negotiations fail… They can't expect you to drive 200 miles for a oil change can they? Dodge has seen the light and they are expanding their dealer network for RAM, Charger, Challenger, … (almost regret switching to Chevy after 10 years of driving Dodge lol) Nick |

Fellow European 6gens,
yes I am active here, my fresh videos and photos all go in this thread: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=545346 Sorry to hear about the Belgium dealership situation. In Germany there is actually a new Chevrolet dealer setting up near me, otherwise servicing can be done through certified Opel dealerships.

I am collecting my automatic mosaic black 2018 SS in the UK on June 1st.
Lets liven up this thread a bit. One suggestion to the OP: @raidaru can you change the thread title from “Anyone from Europe still active @ here?” to “What did you do to your EU 6g Camaro today” or something similar? This will change the perspective of the thread and will engage more people to a more active discussion. I recently sold my EU Mustang and we had a similar thread at the M6G forums that was very active. Last edited by MakCamaro; 05-18-2019 at 01:42 AM. |
