No offense to you or your friend, but i call BS on this one. Until its on paper in an official statement from GM we have heard this rumor 50000x, what makes this one any different?
I think some of these "GM reps" like to stir shit in the forums because they know these rumors get out and they love to see people squirm and go nuts for it. Or they repeatedly misunderstand office scuttlebutt from "it would be nice if" to "it will happen".

Never. No way The only thing coming from GM would be the Z28 and even that is subject. Your friend must have mistaken an after market company like SLP or Nicky Chicago. GM doesn't do COPO any more. To expensive.

This subject has come up in the past, and as I recall it was determined that it would not happen because the entire vehicle would have to go through gov't mandated crash certification due to it being a totally different engine and (probably) some suspension.
GM is not about to spend the big $$$ on that for a limited production type vehicle. Especially being that the Z28 pretty much will complete their line by giving it a flagship to carry the brand and compete with the GT500.

Yeah guy's, I don't know how it would work. It's just something I was told today and it was supposed to be "top secret", but what's really "top secret" anymore anyway's?? Since i'm only in my early 30's I don't really know how the old COPO program worked. Can somebody refresh me/us?

That would be the Z06 engine.
For a Z28 I would rather see a twin turbo D.I. 3.6 liter DOHC with a sport pack suspension and a weight of 3600 # max. |

No, we know all about SLP and Nickey. We just sold our first SLP 575hp car last night and are ordering another '11. I can't see a COPO or whatever being as much as the high-end SLP stuff. Those package's alone run another $10-$30k.

Oh you mean one of these? I would doubt the COPO name but anything is possible when it comes to using the aluminum block 427 - possibly the LS7 or even the LS9 in a special edition car.
