I look at it this way, My Saturn Sky had a 2.4 Inline 4 that had 170 HP and 160Ft lbs of torque. It weighed 2900 lbs. and it got 27 MPG on the highway. so the Camaro is going to have 134 more horsepower and 100 ft lbs more torque it weighs 3900lbs and get around 29 MPG on the hwy... I was perfectly happy with the power of the Sky, I think I will be with the Camaro also. Not to mention I wil have a real trunk and more interior room... just no convertible top... but I can live without that...

2LT RS M6 is my daily driver. (I also have Blizzak snow tires on it and love the feel of rear wheel drive in the snow). Pretty well agree with most of the points made on this thread. The only thing I could add here is that I love technology, and the Direct Injection DOHC VVT V6 did it for me. There were no strings attached when I ordered my Camaro. If I had to re-order it tomorrow, I would order the same engine.

I have said this before, I bought mine thru the cash-for-clunker program, getting $3500 on a 15 yr old minivan for this nice ride! Not to mention the government's federal tax rebate of state taxes, the purchase decision was an easy one; 2LT automatic v6 RS. Although it is stored now for the winter, it is a great fun summer car for our family! I have even offered my 15 yr old son the car next summer if he maintains straight A's in school. I wish I had that incentive when I was his age! Thanx Obama!

I Love it. I have found nothing about the car that I do not like.
I have a SIM 2LT/RS. I bought the V-6 as it has enough power to get you in trouble. I do not regret in any way purchasing the V-6 over the V-8. I had a 1986 Z-28, and the 2010 V-6 has more power than I had in it. Good luck on your decision, and you will not be disappointed either way.

I bought an IBM 2LT/RS with an A6. I'm feeling like I want the extra power the SS has to offer, but the car is still in the break-in period right now as it only has 525 miles on it.
I rented a Camaro from Avis and drove it like it was meant to be driven, so I know this car has the power, but patience surely is a virtue. Overall, I would buy the same car again. I was initially looking for a 1LT/RS with an M6 but after playing with the TAP Shift I was sold, and the added luxuries of the 2LT are definitely worth it. Once you get past the break in and can open it up, the V6 has plenty of power and you definitely won't be disappointed.

Yep. I'm running a 2LT and she's dreamy. I have a sportbike for if I need to get from not to 60 faster than a speeding bullet. The v6 beats out pretty much everything in range, and even some of the competition v8s. The stigma of the V6 being a poor substitute are a relic of christmas past. I'd highly recommend the RS package and the 2LT trim (or at least the 1LT with C&C). Its *hard* to drive my truck anymore, the maro is such a nice ride.

Anyone care to explain in detail what this is all about since it is news to me? Or atleast point me in the appropriate direction to gain insight. I have read the guide on these forums about properly breaking in your car, but since I'm very green in that area I don't quite understand it. |

'Been there, done that' with the V8s....that being said, the V6 is fast enough for me...
I have nothing to prove at this point and I enjoy getting better gas mileage, using regular gas, and having lower insurance rates.... We have a Corvette that is a V8, and I had a Firebird that was a V8, however, the V6 Camaro feels 'BAD A** FAST' to me, that's why I named my car 'ROCKETSHIP'!!!... If I feel that my 'ROCKETSHIP' is fast enough for me, I cannot even imagine how FAST the SS must be...whew!!!!!!!!!!....I have a hard enough time now staying within the speed limit!!!...if I had the SS, I would be getting plenty of tickets, I'm sure...lol... I am very happy for all the SS owners, they have really, really fast cars... 'To each his own', that is my opinion on the personal preference of the V6 vs the V8... 'now back to your regularly scheduled programming'...lol...

I got an automatic LS. I absolutly love it. Sure, the idea of an SS if cool, but I do like the better gas milage and the saved money allows me to choose custom rims and a few other things. Then again, my opinion may be biased since I drove a 95 F-150 for 4 years before this. Big change. =)
