Lots of good dogs end up in shelters or worse because they have shitty owners that aren't aware of what they are getting into when they bring home that lovable little puppy. Also make sure your new puppy spends lots of time socializing with other people and dogs while it's young so you don't have problems later.

This is great advice. I would like to add that everyone consider adopting a dog that is a couple of years or older. Puppies are cute and lots of fun, but they need constant care - some one needs to be with them around the clock. There are plenty of great older dogs available through rescue organizations. These are the same organizations we turn to for help when we can no longer handle that 12 month old, 75 lb puppy.

OP - I only mention this because you will have no problem finding buyers for your puppies.

Folks are really passionate when it comes to man's best friend. They mean well - I wouldn't take it personally.

So post up some pics of the litter and everyone will quickly forget what all the fuss was about.

For the record, the GSD is my favorite breed!

Doris had four along time ago. We have to wait till we're out this area and have some room for one. Or two!
