imho the s197 is a death trap. above 90 they are dangerous

Did you owned a S197? Just saying.

So if you found them to be all that bad, why didn't you at least learn from your second "mistake"???

The S197's 3 link/PHB is worlds better than leaf springs or variations on the triangulated 4-link, which were the usual 1960s US Domestic solid axle suspension arrangements.

No, it's not as good as a good IRS (though it's better than a poor IRS arrangement and likely to be better than an indifferently-designed IRS). But you knew that going in . . . the first time, right?

Is it right to ask if a Mustang is better then any Camaro on a Camaro forum? Why would you ever do that?

Hi norm. ofc. but it's only a car. never lost a cent on any of them.
the ford cortinas here had coil springs not leaf springs.
in fact if you look the 1975 taunus had double wishbone fronts..so in fact better than the s197.

yeah not a good idea. some of us have been there and done that and that's why we now own a proper sports car with proper suspension

I've never owned a Mustang, but what kind of replies do you honestly think you'd get asking if a Mustang is better then a Camaro on a Camaro forum?? I don't get it. That'd be like asking if you think an Indian is better then a Harley on a Harley forum.

Just wondering how many Camaro owners are on the Mustang forums that don’t own a Mustang!

I was never that thrilled with my 2015 GT. The power down low was not for me and a 2013 C6 was so much better for my heavy traffic and stop and go driving.

Because this isn't the 1960s anymore? Brand loyalty is largely a thing of the past. A lot of people here cross shopped the Camaro with other performance cars in the price range, so they were more open minded with their purchase. Yes they ended up deciding on a Camaro, but this thread specifically compares a V8 Mustang vs a V6 Camaro. You don't really see that comparison often, so I could see why the OP was asking.

This happens more often than you might imagine.

Guitar players tend to own several guitars, and a good variety of different brands.
What i find very curious is the guys that own several of the same brand guitar, down to the same model with the same specs.

Guitar Acquisition Syndrome (GAS) is real.

If I could afford it, I would already have a Camaro, Mustang and Challenger in my stable.
