Acceleration Freak looking to slow down
So, I have been riding motorcycles all my life, dirt and street.
Love the rush of acceleration from 40 mph to 65 mph. 0 - 60 is fun, but I love passing power. Taking a curve and leaning it over, then getting on the throttle to exit is Nirvana. Anyway, I've decided to mellow out and get a hot rod, pony car, muscle car, sports car, whatever. Just relax and motor around on the weekends instead of dodging critters and speed traps. Had a NOVA SS and a Datsun 280Z when I was younger. Those were both a lot of fun in their own way. I've always like the styling of the Dodge Challenger. Big fan of Steve McQueen and the famous 1968 Bullitt. Test drove Mustang, Camaro, WRX, Challenger. Camaro came out on top. Handling, styling, price, overall package. Not bothered by the visibility issues that some complain about. Kinda disappointed in the trunk, or lack thereof. Been lurking here for a few years. I've had my radar on for a V6, M6 2LT with a sunroof, any color except red. I have had too many red cars. I kinda like the Blue, and Black is catching my eye more often now. I have never wanted a black car because they are high maintenance to keep clean, but the Camaro looks fantastic in Black. Also dig the Nightfall Gray. But a very small number of manual transmission available with a V6. Even smaller number with a sunroof. My daily driver is a Tacoma. Great rig. The Camaro would be a fun second car for hooning and road-trips. I'm frugal (kinda cheap, LOL) Don't want a car that requires premium fuel. Inflation fears and getting close to retirement. Test drove an SS and a I4. SS is overkill for me and nose heavy. I4 wasn't bad, but the V6 is the sweet spot, as it sounds better and drinks regular. So, finally decided to register. Now that used prices are up 40% Yeah, crappy timing, but I'm not getting any younger. TL;DR I am looking forward to getting a Camaro 2LT M6 one of these days. edit: Don't care for the 6th Gen emergency brake. But I guess I'll get over it as the 6th Gen is superior to the 5th Gen in some ways. (I hope I didn't just open a can of worms, nothing wrong with 5th Gen body styling) Last edited by Turul; 08-15-2021 at 10:43 PM. Reason: e-brake |

CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives', husbands, girlfriends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!
