LS3 and L99 Exhaust compatible?

Did a search with those keywords and nothing came up, so before anyone flames me.

Will one work on the other? Are they the same?

Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!

I could have sworn the L99 exhaust was completely different.

The stock exhaust systems are different but follow the same "path". Aftermarket systems generally fit both unless otherwise noted. What systems are you looking at?

here is the pic I was referring to... but if your wanting to go the aftermarket route I do think they will work on either engine because their paths are indeed similar

No, I am talking about stock. But I am not against an aftermarket system.

The resonator on the L99 exhaust is massive to deal with the AFM noise. Both should fit though although I see no point in replacing one with the other if you're looking for sound or weight savings. You can get a budget exhaust like cherry bomb or something along those lines for not much money.

Yes, the stock catback exhausts ARE interchangeable...No they are not the same. The LS3 exhaust is a pretty conventional exhaust because it's a pretty conventional V8...the L99 exhaust has a different setup in it to avoid having the car sound "weird" when AFM is on.

L99 has a resonated x pipe setup and LS3 has an H pipe. I had both on my L99 and they perform different as well. You can feel the delay in flow with the stock H pipe on an L99 vs the L99 resonated x pipe setup. Don't put H pipes on L99s.

I think you would be fine. Again, the only difference is the resonator on the L99 when AFM kicks in. If you turn AFM off then I don't see why you would have to worry about having the resonator.
