Gen1 introduced Sept 1966 as a 1967MY.
Gen2 introduced Fall 1969 as a 1970MY.
Gen3 1982 MY.
Gen4 1993 MY ended production in 2002.
Gen5 started in March 2009 as a 2010MY.
Gen6 is about to start as a 2016MY.

Corrections welcomed.

My guess is the advantage of the six piston set-up is it significantly improves braking and the disadvantage is it significantly improves braking.

Down side would be the costs associated with maintenance. I would think bigger rotors and pads. Maybe different material. With different material could add some squeaking. Doubt you will notice downside as much as the better braking and bigger calipers look cooler. Main downside is initial costs upfront.

Tons of downsides that I would be willing to trade with you and take one for the team. I would not see the track often so it is a complete loss for me to offer you mine for an even swap. I would really hate to do this but since you are a Marine I could offer the help. LOL

Thank you sir. I remember when GM stopped making the Camaro. They had a special SLP edition the final year. What changed GM's mind and brought them back in 2010? Must have been the demand. Thanks again for the information.
