Yeah with the exception of the ZL1 owners, a consensus formed pretty quickly!

I've driven corvettes at work and sat in stingrays at the dealer and the auto show... too cramped in there for me, I like a little room. They are awesome though.

2011 Camaro and either about 40-50K in cash in your bank account or being payment free going forward.
or
2015 Stingray with 40-50K gone from your bank account or a note for about 40-50K.

Its about balancing now and later. If he is already putting 20% away a year towards retirement/savings then spend away. If he is doing nothing or just 6% matching in a 401K then I say he should save more and enjoy the Camaro. There is a Grand Canyon size difference between what you can afford and what you should afford in life.

A lot of the wife's concern was the people. She likes the Camaro crowd so no Corvette for me. Honestly, I like the Camaro crowd too so I'm perfectly happy with the ZL1 choice. I guess I'm just a beer and peanuts kind of guy. Someone else can have the wine and cheese.
We're helping even the distribution of Camaros at the local meets. Rarely were there any ZL1s. Now there will be at least two on a regular basis. BTW, good luck staying below 80 in the thing during break in. It happens in no time at all.
