E or W on odometer track setting screen

I have my car on sport mode and odometer on track. Today I noticed an "E" on the bottom right of the odometer. Later in the day I saw the same place, bottom right it saying a "W." What is this? The letters are smaller than the center TRACK, SPORT ETC

Also on the HUD I noticed a bunch of red circles on top the hud, that were partly filling in as I accelerated. I couldn't repeat this cool feature, how do I get that to display?

E/W in bottom right = probably a compass
Circles = shift lights

I figured it out this morning ,what an idiot I am,
how about the circles on the hud, that slowly were filling in as I accelerated, how do I get that feature on>

Those are shift lights.

Ok but I don't see them again, are they only in a particular HUD setting?

Shift lights will come on as you get closer to red line. When the car is cold, red line is lowered. Therefore you are more likely to see them when the engine is cold, as you don't need to rev all that much.
