Powder Coating the base model 5 spoke wheels

Has anyone that has purchased a base model Stingray with the 5 spoke wheels had them powder coated or painted black? I was lucky enough to get the last allocation at a local dealer, but was very sad that I couldn't add the Z51 package with that allocation. I really wanted the package, but did not want to wait 6 months to a year go get it. So I ordered the Stingray without it. I want to powder coat the wheels black because I really like the look of black wheels. Just curious if anyone else has done this yet and have pictures of what it would look like. Thanks.

I was thinking of doing this exactly if I got a non-Z51 unit. For me, I think it would look better powdercoated in gloss or semigloss black... will help with the contrast effect on light colored cars. I estimate $400-$500 in labor/costs to have a set professionally done.

Yea, I agree, I will be going Gloss Black, I may even see if adding a red ring would be possible. Just want to get an idea of how the stock 5 spokes look when black and on the car. If I don't like the way they look, then maybe I will just go to an aftermarket wheel.

Your costs estimates Sound about right. I want to powdercoat my stock ZL1 wheels black since the factory paint is so soft and powdercoating would be more durable. I was quoted $100 per wheel (plus mounting/balancing on tires)

ordered a 2LT Cyber base car, wheels coming off, new TSW black wheels with machine face going on in 19/20 and a bit wider - about $2500 in cost w/ new tires. Here's what they look like on a C6. I like they hide they red painted caliper a bit.

I got my stock rims powder coated gloss black on my 2011 Nissan Juke. I still don't regret it.

RedVett...my thought process as well..online quotes seem to run about $95.00 per wheel..

Wow, that looks awesome! How much does it cost to dip wheels that way?

Yea, that's about the going rate for powder coating. I think I will end up doing this and also buying another set of aftermarket wheels. Maybe use the stocks for all season tires or something.
