6 speed Manual V6 or 10 auto speed SS?
If you could only choose one to drive for the rest of your life as a daily or track car and you can never drive the other which would you choose?
Me personally I prefer Automatic. While I see the benefits and fun factor of a manual I much prefer the convenience you get in day to day driving. I understand it takes more skill and is more fulfilling but man these new autos are crazy. I’m also addicted to the pop newer Chevy cars do when they shift. But I completely understand why people would want to stick with manual it is much more engaging than just putting your foot down. |

I, too, hope V6 was a misspelling.
After thinking long and hard about it, I went with the auto. There are tradeoffs with either, and while I sometimes miss the good old throttle burped downshift to 2nd before a sharp turn, it's no more than 1-2% of the time. Also, back in 2018 when I bought my Camaro I lived in an area with pretty bad traffic. These new Hydra-Matic transmissions are very good, smooth when just cruising and beastly animals with their performance shift algorithm. Oh, and those WOT bang upshifts you mentioned are addictive, I'm not sure I would even want to try and keep emulating them with NLS on a manual trans, it only takes one time to accidentally shove the stick into 1st instead of 3rd and you're done. All in all I didn't regret the automatic and couldn't care less what names I get called for it.

V8 and manual for me. I will never own an automatic anything. Id rather drive a 4 speed manual Yugo than a Ferrari with two pedals.

I cannot drive a sports car or muscle car in anything other than a V8, period. So if I had to make a choice, it'd be the SS.
That said, the 6 speed gives you so much more control over how the car behaves. I'm no racecar driver, and a 10 speed would definitely out run me, but I'm much happier having the better driving experience. Can't deny though, the 10 speeds in both the Camaro and Mustang sound amazing at WOT, especially on FBO cars with a good exhaust. |

Gotta be a V8 and Auto trans only. With red lights every 200 feet in my area i sure don't wanna row thru gears.

6 speed for me especially in my ZL1! Nothing against an auto but it’s more engaging to me with a manual trans.
