How my 23 2SS performed at a Meet

So I went to my first Car meet with my Camaro and it went really well and I thought some of you would like to hear how it performed.

My car has longtube Headers, CAI and a tune all races were from 40-50 rolls and Im at Denver elevation.

I Raced a mostly stock 8 speed 2018 2SS and really got him on the top end. The 8 speed does a decent job until you get to about 80 then it’s not even close. I also raced a modded 5th gen that beat the 2018 but I ended up winning in the top end.

I raced a C6 Z06 and it was pretty even but I was slowly pulling away from him.

I got obliterated by a C7 Z06 and it wasn’t very close, unknown mods but it could’ve been stock.

Really interesting is I raced a Gen 3 5.0 and beat him like I beat the 18 ss and even on the top end I was pulling, so it really confuses me why the 5.0 wins in every YouTube video but in person the Camaro seems to win more. I beat a modded 1st gen coyote and that wasn’t close at all.

Destroyed 2 Scatpacks one was a challenger one was a charger. challenger did slightly better than the charger but on the top end it couldn’t keep up.

Got destroyed by a stock hellcat almost as bad as what the C7 Z06 did to me.

Best takeaway I got from tonight is that 10 Speed top end is absolutely no joke.

I was alone in the car so I didn’t get to take videos but if I go again I’ll definitely find a way it was such a great time.

How about running at Bandimere. Before it's closed. Come back with some time slips. To see what it can do from a dead stop. I would like to see with the elevation does.

Was the gen 3 5.0 stock? If so, then yes you should win since you're modded. I'm surprised you beat the c6Z though. Those cars run hard especially on the top end.

He started pulling slowly up high but I’m talking like 140 mph he was starting to creep but by then it didn’t really matter

Sounds like you had a great time indeed.

When you say "top end", does that mean only 120-130? The main reason your A10 is faster at ~90-110 is the extra gear the A10 has between the A8's 4th and 5th and to some degree the higher ratio of the A10's 4th (once the A8 is also in 4th). GM's middle gear ratio choices with the 8L90 were not ideal for maximum acceleration, as there is a huge rpm drop between 4th and 5th, I also felt a slight acceleration drop at the drag strip every time. Adding power and a trans tune helped somewhat, though.

Once the A10 is in 6th and the A8 in 5th, the tables even out. Also, you are beating stock cars with your headers+CAI+tune car, no surprise about that. If you add a supercharger, you will be much closer to that C7 Z06 and a stock Hellcat (the 707 hp version) will have a hard time beating you.

You need to go up against a ZL1 and see how you fare out!

Considering what happened with the hellcat I’m pretty sure I know how that ends
