Will Kooks Longtube Headers with Green Cats throw a CEL?

I’m thinking of paying a little extra for the Green Catted Longtube headers for the SS and running with a stock tune for a while will it throw a code?

Yes most definitely. You need to have the car tuned when installing headers.

I drove my car for a few days before it threw a CEL but it eventually will. And when I say a few days my car is a garage queen so its only driven on weekends mainly so probably 3 days tops before it happened.

In case it matters where you live, it will probably set a failure code that will cause the car to fail an emissions inspection too.

Best way is to tune out potential issues BEFORE you install the new hardware. Then tweak the tune for air/fuel, timing, etc after the installation.

The Kooks with either green or regular cats is a great option but yes you will definitely need to tune before or at the time of installation to prevent CEL and get you air, fuel, and timing dialed in right.
