The software is all the same unbelievably . ABS,air bag ,BCM, the lot. I have done it with mine loads of times. Good luck and f**k the dealer right off out of it.!
Thats good to know - does the same happen for 2012/13 models regarding the OBD access? - Whereabouts in UK are you? When my warranty is up I'd be very interested in hooking up with someone who can diagnose codes and access the cars systems as well as service it. Cheers, Ed

I am in between Westerham in Kent and Oxted in Surrey, right on the border. I don't see 2012 being any different, OBD is certainly generic. I think I can do most things on these cars with my eyes shut. I had the dash in and out on Sunday to fit the colour HUD unit, even that was easy.

That's really reassuring Trevor - might come see you next year for a few jobs on mine if that's OK - I don't mind doing the oily bits - but the bloody computer stuff frightens me - probably an age thing - I was raised on Capris and Cortinas etc - so easy to fix.

And sooner than you might think...lol

I added the fluid into the power steering reservoir waiting a few days done a few miles and the noise continues, I'm worried it could be gear box related as it only happens when I use the throttle.

I'm right in saying the gear box is a sealed unit on these cars and are unable to change that fluid?

It is possible to change fluid, best to be sure what noise is first though. You can always contact me in real life, my work number is 01883 730170.
