I know.... As soon as I saw the black one matched my car it was all over for me too. I still want to build something to hang on my wall that has the die cast of my car, my window sticker and the ZL1 certificates... Wouldn't that be cool?

I have all 4 colors of those models as well.

The exact same models are for sale on EBay for a little less than the $100.00 that Luxury wants (I paid between $65.00 - $79.00 for each one of mine)

Just be aware that these are not die-cast models.

They are actually made of resin and should not be displayed in direct sunlight for extended periods of time..

I ordered one of the 1/18th ZL1 scale replicas (silver one) from EBay a year or so ago and it showed up with a broken mirror. I glued it back on, not a huge deal, but was kind of frustrated. All mine from luxury collectibles showed up perfect so I am happy about that. It might have something to do with the size too.

I would think the way it is packed and shipped contributed. I pack with the notion of the package being tossed and severely abused when handled. The larger the package the more chance of damage. It is weird how that works sometimes.

That explains why I was confused by the detail in the photos.

I bet if you email customer support with suggestions they will take them into account. They were great about my questions when I preordered my first black ZL1 replica.
