Fark

Just ordered the FARK full harness and a Rockford PBR 300x4. Should be here by mid week. Anyone run this amp before?

Got the amp in today. Fark harness delayed by the weather. Amp is super small.

Wow. That is small. That almost begs for "under the seat" install

looking at so many amps right now my head is spinning, just wish the site I do most of my ordering through carried JL, they have hundreds of amps and not one JL. was looking at Alpine and once you figure in the size to fit the stock location, power per channel, and price it is really hard to decide on one.

I ordered by JL speakers through amazon. The JL 400 amp I bought locally, just in case. It was $50 difference but I figured just being able to swap it if there was a problem was worth it.

That and they have an upgrade deal. If I want to upgrade within 12 months, they will give you 100% value on the amp. I am considering the 600/6 and running it in a 4 speaker configuration.

I'm still waiting on my Fark hardness to install my amp. Figured its small enough to mount just about anywhere. Only problem I see with it is there is no preout for another amp. So if I decide I want a sub later I'll have to change amps. Don't think I want a sub anyways. Everything eventually starts to rattle with a sub. I just want to open up the stock speakers alittle bit.

Just a note:

If you have the Boston system, then you may have issues unless you replace your speakers. The stock Boston speakers are 2 ohms, and that Rockford amp is not stable or rated for 2 ohm loads.

JL XD 400....it has a pre out. I plugged the mono amp to that to run my 12" kicker.

I'd say check out the Pioneer GM-D8604. It's small, clean, and has plenty of power for the Boston speakers. It's also super cheap ($140 on Amazon). The JL XD400/4 is a good amp, no doubt - but it's also in the $400 range, and I believe that there is better to be had in that price range. JMHO.

I bought the Pioneer Class FD 4-Channel Bridgeable Amplifier w/1,200 Watts Max Power, Model GM-D8604 from amazon and plan on trying it this weekend. It is 2 ohm stable. I have the FARK harness coming. Should be here tomorrow. I can PM you and let you know how it sounds. I paid 110 all in for the amp so I aml not really sure what to expect. I have front door speaker to put in as well but I will try it with just the swap first
