I heard the Recaro seats can't go in the vert without the seatbelt light

I was talking to someone who has a 13 vert and said he was gonna put the Recaro seats in his vert but GM told him it couldn't be done because a air bag difference. Is it true?

True that the airbags from a coupe are different from a convertible. True Recaros where not offered as an option in convertibles. Page 3-19 of the 2013 Owner's Manual shows the differences in airbags. Maybe put the convertible airbag into the Recaros.

I think if it's the same plug going into the harness, why would a light come on. Someone has had to of put the Recaro seats in a vert by now.

Lots of design and testing goes into airbags... probably different airbags for a good reason, even if you CAN physically make them work. Swap at your own risk, in my opinion.

Not the same plug in the coupe airbag as compared to the convertible airbag.
