Yeah wait... you have their kit?

I'm quite surprised.
In the picture it looks done very decently and delicately.
And not that they leave such long chimneys there.

I agree with the cables. It was the second reason why I welded it with motors on the outside.

The first reason was the smooth flow of exhaust gases through the first corner.
It occurred to me that if I boil it directly on the first knee, the exhaust gases will tend to return and turbulence will arise.

It's probably more my subjective impression. But the way I have it, it seems more "natural" to me

I've seen cut outs installed even just behind the X-pipe.
But they say the biggest benefit is being as close as possible to the headers.

I think there is some truth to that, you're impeding flow a little (very little) bit with another 3' of 3" tubing. But, probably not substantially. The key is that you're getting the exhaust dumped before the sharp corners and velocity transitions of the muffler, which will definitely kill power.

Yes, it's a QTP kit but I bought it all used with the connectors melted and the system not functioning correctly for about $200, so QTP may have made changes since the rev I have. A little effort on my part and it works as designed. I did not have cutouts on the mandatory mods list, but when I came across a deal, I figured why not.

I also can't say for sure it's not camera angle and the fact that the pipes have a little age on them. It's not like I was taking pics for a manual. I just did what I could laying on the ground with a cell phone. Plus, exhaust looks all pretty when new in the box but it doesn't take long for corrosion to take its toll.

With the hi-flow cats in there it's not as loud as I expected, so I'm thinking about putting in some Speed Engineering off-road pipes to really let it breath, but that is not really high on the list. I've spent so much time modding these cars, I think it's time to drive them a bit.
