Angry 2017 Camaro SS humming noise

2017 Camaro SS Humming noise

I need some help. A humming noise has been overwhelming on my car rolling at 65 mph on deceleration. The dealer says its uneven tire wear. At this point I have already ruled that out because when I turned it on this morning I was disturbed by this loud humming noise that happens sometimes when I'm driving as well. Dealer cant figure out what it is. Does anyone have any idea on this? This noise is very annoying!!

can you be a little more specific as to the origin? speed related? rpm related? constant hum or variable? do you have the bose stereo?

Humming noise happens every now and then on cold startup then while driving 65 mph on deceleration. No Bose stereo on this 1SS

Usually hear it on the right side of the car but as it gets louder its difficult to hear where it's coming from...

When you say deceleration, do you mean completely off the gas and letting it coast to slow down? If the noise stops when you're off the gas it may be the rear diff. Tires can easily make noise, but an alignment that's off can also cause the tires to make noise. Have you had the alignment checked? I'd have it checked to rule it out.

What does my alignment have to do with the noise happening at startup?

Automatic or manual transmission? This sounds like transmission noise.

Automatic. First 2 times they just flushed the transmission and blamed it on the tire wear, but when the noise happens at startup thats throws their opinion out the window. They also said it might be the torque converter. I like yes,but in park???

Does the noise change when you shift out of park into drive or reverse?

Also, since it hums while in park, does the sound change when you open the hood? I suspect that if any belt-driven components (e.g. alternator) were the problem it would be louder with the hood up.

well... not tires for sure then.
If shifting changes the noise, then I really lean toward transmission or torque converter.

The torque converter is always moving, no matter what gear you're in... Or at least it used to, lol.

It does sound like the torque converter, if neutral made the noise stop (sudden reduction in noise), but could also be a loose/worn mount, or something in the serpentine system...

But I'm leaning towards transmission.

Can you try and record the hum?

I agree, but shifting does change the loading on a whole bunch of components
