What brand of power steering fluid is equivalent to the GM fluid recommended?

What brands do you use?

A lot of people cheat and use auto tans fluid

It's not that much money, why use something not recommended by GM?

Moment of need vs want sometimes dictates it. Sometimes you have to use what is on hand. Might be the day you need it and the dealer is closed. lots of reasons why one would do it...Even Independent shops do it. Customer wants car today. Will take a day to get the GM stuff delivered. Same stuff, let's use this

And honestly a lot of fluids are the same. Power steering fluid a lot of times is just rebranded Mercon auto trans fluid

Good point, Dan. Will probably go that route. I've had the car since January and the fluid is low. Just checking for short cuts with the pros here.

Yes sir....It happens a lot. now my own personal taste, I put in the factory stuff because I am anal about it when I can be.............

Huh. I've owned almost 80 cars over 40 years and have never found myself in that situation.
