See Ethanol likes heat and the supercharger can produce much higher air temps without needing to pull timing. You don't need to spend a bunch of money on ice tanks what not. Ethanol likes heat. Combine that with the latest port programs and the stock blower does very well. It's been proven and plenty of data out there supports it.

Not trying to knock what you chose to do with your car. The 2650 is a beast you simply are not using anywhere close to it's potential. But I can see why you chose to go with it. For pump gas only the added cooling will be beneficial.

I am not biased in the slightest. I like all setups and there are definitely more ways then 1 to skin a cat.

Keep in mind you wouldn't make anymore power with a 2650 sitting on top at the same boost level. So I am not sure how you think this is lacking for what it is. First off it's a Mustang Dyno. This car made 660whp on old setup on this Dyno. The car trapped 135 in the 1/4. I seen someone else put a Maggie 2650 on their ZL1 with no other mods it made 700whp, but only trapped 130. So Dyno numbers don't mean squat without a baseline. If the car you cited makes 825whp then it's right on point from what it made prior and will likely be a 145-147mph car in the 1/4 in decent air. Seems pretty good to me.
Seems like a lot of work for what their getting....

Yes, full build, using some ethanol and pullied, Kong X port or Jokerz race port. I believe Synergy has a good race port too but I've never had any experience with them, just anecdotal reports.

So how do you plan on getting more for less?

I'm still going to go 2650, mainly because I "just want it." Dumb reason, I know. But, in my experience, I always wanted more from my cars, and never got there for whatever reason. I figure with the 2650, I've got the foundation to support a big build for when I get there in several years. In the meantime, if the only downsides are cash outlay and less "hit" in the lower RPM range, I'm good with that trade off.

That said, how far can you take the stock blower these days? will it see 1000, or will it just heat soak itself to death at that point?
nothing wrong with that. As Zoh6 pointed out, 900 give or take seems to where they are getting to without a ton of effort. LMP has pushed one over 1k and went low 8's @ 160+ but I wouldn't consider that the norm. For 1k+ the 2650 is what you want.

Yeah you'd need to be max effort for that with the stock blower. Thats where the maggie comes in. And in that case, you are going to be 1.5x the price to get there with the maggie including cam and fuel system and so on.

You're building a ton of heat with that build.....

Magnuson, TooHigh and you're getting close.....and you can sell the OEM blower for some extra cash to throw at it....

Yeah that's a good setup for sure being you have a tuner capable of dialing in the port system which I don't think will be a big issue. Camonly wanted to stay DI only so that requires more work for sure.

All besides the 2650 is bone stock down to the air filter.

Opinions vary on that. Above 900whp, I would agree it becomes a heat pump. I standby what I stated, 900whp is possible without a ton of heat on a race ported OEM blower as long as its ethanol fueled and at least has some accompanying cooling mods, such as heat exchangers, aux pump or reserve tank. Its not spinning the blower that hard to reach 900whp but it is more than stock, The part you're overlooking is that ethanol is what will keep the car from pulling timing so the additional heat load is moot.

FFS, just checked the price of the 2650. $7200, I paid $5000 in 2019 and after selling the stock charger I was all in at $3200 +tuning to gain over 120whp.

Thanks for the discussion everyone. As of today, I've got a Maggie 2650R that will be headed my way, along with the 103 snout, NW103, and a BG.

Big thanks to @NicKey for alerting me to the limited time before the Maggie price increase!!

And while I'm shouting out to NicKey, thank you for the good youtube content, @NickeyMatt1LE! I enjoy your videos, man.

Thank you!!! If all the stars line up, this car will be THE ONE.

I certainly could have been happy with an x-port, but I really wanted to build a monster 6-spd that is easy to daily drive, but then can maaaaaybe crack into the 9's with appropriate driver skill.

That was my plan with the last car (though was only aiming for low 10s), but this one has much more headroom, particularly now that PI is an easy thing. I was only comfortable with about 850 on the stock LSA shortblock, but it sounds like 950-1000 on the LT4 shortblock is comfortable for most people.

Let the fun begin!
