What would you get...
... if you wanted something more hard core and go-kart like? I'm interested in something like an Exocet given the price/performance ratio. Probably buy one vs. build one for now. I've also considered building a Locost Super Seven replica but again, building something probably will need to wait for retirement.
Any other options you would recommend I consider? Any resources for buying a used Exocet? (It's not really relevant but I may sell the Camaro.)

Why not get a go kart? I purchased a shifter last year and for the performance and fun factor it trumps any car I’ve driven. It’s also way easier to access and get on track. No need to plan a whole weekend. My track days have nearly stopped since starting to race my kart. There are probably local series for guys of like age (I’m 31 so here is is shifter masters so I’m not driving with fearless 17 year olds who are 110 lbs dripping wet lol).
Don’t get me wrong, i love driving cars but 100mph half an inch off the ground is beyond fun. |

For what usage? Track? Autocross? Mostly DD?

Primary use would be track. Could be exclusive use if I ended up with a kart obviously. In which case I would keep the Camaro. Not a hard choice given the relative cost of a kart.
I used to have a TaG years ago and really loved it. My only issue is that the Sonoma karting track (the only one near me) seems to be unreliable in availability. That said, it seems to have improved recently although the whole COVID thing makes it a bit less clear. It was also a bit of a hassle to store and transport the kart. I don't have a pickup so I had to get a cheap Harbor Freight trailer. And I live in San Francisco so space is at a premium. I could store it at the track though that increases costs. My kart was also kind of temperamental. But maybe they're better nowadays? Two stroke, weak chain, dead batteries, etc. What's the kart to get these days? I don't have a burning desire to race. Just something that's fun and easy to maintain. Are there four strokes? EDIT: The LO206 karts might be a good option as a 4 stroke with lower running costs. I know it won't be as fast as a shifter, but I don't need to be fast per se. I assume the LO206 is still a blast.

That thing looks sweet! Those guys (FF) are not too far from me. I don't think I've seen a GTM before but have seen a few 818s.
