Talking 2 FEET OF SNOW ON LONG ISLAND, NY!!!

It looks like a postcard outside...we broke the record for a single day's snow total...the last record was 1978 when we got 23 inches...the schools were closed for days back then...people were getting stuck on the highways and just getting out and leaving their cars right there...

The snowplows have been getting stuck all night!!!...the first plow came by my house at noon today, even though it started snowing over 24 hrs prior...that was a 'first'...the snow usually gets plowed right away where I live...

I'll be getting a big chance to try out my snow tires this week, for sure...will update you guys with my results...

In the meantime, stay safe out there, everyone in the Long Island, NY area, and elsewhere where there is a lot of snow!!!...I don't want to see any more 'wrecked Camaro' photos!!!...:(

I'll try to post photos...but my Camaro is safely 'tucked away' in my garage...I am not planning on taking it out today...not all the roads are plowed yet...

I will never forget the blizzard if '78 on Long Island. I lived in Garden City then and had to drive my '76 Nova from the office at the Huntington Quadrangle ( LIE & RT 110 ) back to G.C at 10:00 am. The Nova barely made it off the L.I.E. in Westbury at Ginny Woods Rd.- Thought I was going to die- LOL.

I had my '76 Firebird then and had just started a new job only the week before in Melville, right near the Quad...the office was closed for 4 whole days, and so were the schools...I think that would be unheard of today, with 4-wheel drive vehicles, and how much safer cars and trucks are today...

Fortunately for me, I never got out of my driveway that day, so I didn't get stuck, but my boyfriend (now husband), got stranded in my driveway at my parent's house for the week with us...lol...now THAT was a 'picnic' - "NOT"...lol....

BTW, my Dad had a '77 Nova that we loved.....it was light blue metallic...
THOSE were the days, huh???!!!...

2 feet of snow? That's it? Sounds like fun!

This is in Newfoundland, a ways away from me. (in 2001 when they had a bad snow storm)

Been there, I was in western Mass on Rt 90 in my Monza Spyder during that storm ! Or should I say Monza Snow plow. I couldn't see anything except the state trooper in front on me who proceeded to drive right off the road. Got within 100 yards of my house when the car died ! I Ran Out Of Gas !
