The cost is exactly the same as my original concept, so I'm just going to get twelve 2x12 boards and lay 6 on top of each other. I went to home depot and found out it should cost 150 bucks or so for all the boards and then 12" threaded rods with a nuts and washers. Then lay some 4x4's across to keep side to side support and lined up together. 100% solid as far as I can think

Home made Kwiklift

Any experienced welder can probably make a lift similar to the kwiklift pictured and safer. A home made lift and jack stands for safety. Just my suggestion.

Save a little and use 2x4 spacers on 16 to 18" centers as long as the spacers are all in a vertical line. You would need half the 2x12s. I've worked in industrial construction for years. A 2x12 with a 8' span will support more than 600 lbs. Using spacers there would only be a span of no more than 14". The load capacity would increase dramatically. More than enough to support a vehicle. For good measure and safety allowance you could double just the top layer and support a huge amount of weight safely.
