My poor camaro
Invest in a snowblower.... Trust me...The 23 inches I got here in NJ were childs play when it came time to clean up.

That's over here in Shirley (Suffolk County). The plow did not come till around 12 also. The roads were literally 2feet high of snow. No one could drive anywhere.

What part of LI are you guys from?

My wife and I just visited my brother and his wife and inlaws at Oceanside too. But we left on monday 12/14 just before the snow hit. We had a good time in the city saturday night but it was freezing cold, about 12 degrees with the windchill. Too bad we missed the snow :(

Don't miss the snow

I lived 21 years on Long Island. Got my first Camaro there too! Lived out in the Bay Shore area, and love visiting there. Love the beaches, the city nearby, love everything about LINY, but not the snow, of course! I miss LI so much, especially during the summer when it's 110 degrees here in Fresno. I practically lived on Fire Island during the summer. Hope one day to drive my Camaro across. I've done it twice already CA to NY (1978) and Ca to Fl.(1995). I don't know any of you that post on here from LI, but I guarantee that if I still lived in Suffolk County, I'd be at all ther Camaro gatherings! I'll attach a few pics to show the local terrain. Central Valley, SF, and Sierra Nevada Mts. Merry Christmas Long Island!

Yeah, I have seen some pretty crazy stuff. When I was little, I also lived in MN and went through a real blizzard. It was about -80 after windchill was factored in.

Hey sis, hope you and Keith have not driven each other crazy yet! Just glad you were home safe! We had 10 inches of snow two weeks ago and it is supposed to hit again starting tomorrow with freezing rain.
You will be amazed at how well the Rocketship handles when you do get out. I had no trouble with mine!

I'm a fan too. I just don't like the people that think 4X4 gives them special stopping power too. My Camaro and 4X4 Silverado both have 4 wheel brakes.

You are so right!!!...I remember waking up the 2nd day and it was STILL SNOWING!!!...back then, hardly anyone had 4 wheel drive vehicles, so just about EVERYONE got stuck, and people just abandoned their cars anywhere and everywhere, so that is why it took so long to get all the roads plowed...the cars had to be removed from the roads first, before the plows could get through...
