After way to long, im officially a ZL1 owner
I had another post from over a year ago asking about which 6th gen to get. After a ton of useful information and when life finally permitted, I picked up my new (to me) 2018 zl1 in mosaic black with 3012 miles. It was in Arlington TX, and i live in Phoenix. Wife and I hopped on an airplane and flew in today (11/9) and we r driving it home. I made it to the middle of somewhere NM for now and have a 5 hr drive home in the morning.
Needless to say, the 700ish miles I've put on it has been 700 miles of straight smiling. I still am amazed, coming even from someone who has an 86 iroc with a built 406 on nitrous, just how ridiculously fast this car is. Like I thought that car was fast... but damn... stock this car just moves! Unfortunately the front end of the car looks horrible with the amount of bugs on it. Thankfully next Monday I have an appointment to have it washed, paint corrected and ceramic coated. Anyway, thank you all again for all your help and great info that got me to this point. |

I learned quick to leave it in touring mode. Holy crap that gas guage do not stay on full very long It seems if I stay around 75 ill get about 19-20 mpg. But if I am at 90 it drops to high 16s per gal |

The most difficult thing will be waiting till November 2021 when the warranty is up. I put a good chunk of $ down on the car so my loan is just over 21k. My goal is to pay that off by the time the warranty is off then start the mods. That being said, the stock exhaust, while nice, is WAY to quiet. So ill get a roto and axle back (come black Friday) and thats about it till its paid off. But man... I so wanna do a pulley. Lol |
