I’m looking for a GM dove tail template
Any one have one laying around? I know I can use double sided molding tape but I’d rather drill the holes if possible. I recently bought a used dove tail and am getting ready to paint and mount it.

.....I'll have to look in my garage. I've moved since I installed mine, so I doubt it, but I'll definitely look!

Your local Chevy dealer or body shop might have a diagram they could print off for you if you haven't tried them already.

Dealer was the first place I went, they said the template doesn’t appear to have a part number so they can’t get it. I didn’t really think about a body shop. I’ll look into it.
I wanted to drill the holes for peace of mind but if I don’t round up the template I may just tape the corners on.

You're braver than me. I liked the look of the blade/dovetail spoiler, but I just couldn't bring myself to drill holes into my fenders and like you I wanted it more secure than just taping it on. Good luck in the search. I hope you find the template soon.

I drilled mine. I was afraid with the hot summers’ here that the ends would eventually come off. It took balls of brass to get get the courage up to tackle that project with no template, but it came out good.

Yes it does take that to tackle the drilling. I have the template, but nervous as anything of the holes not being in the right place and keep the end pieces from sitting correctly. My right side piece on my last car was just very slightly off and I could do nothing to straighten it it seemed.

You can see the alignment/gaps on the passenger side is a little off.

Your’s looks very nice, appears to have turned out similar to what I had. Drove me nuts because the Drivers side was absolutely perfect and the passenger side I couldn’t do anything to get it positioned the same as the left side.
I did the pain in the rear job of running & securing the 4th brake light wiring harness that comes with the kit last night. Probably will be looking to install the spoiler this weekend.
