Spring Spacer - Shipping Block Left On Car After Delivery

I jacked up my car for the first time and found out the dealer forgot to remove the spacers from the front springs. The High Performance Supplement mentions these spring spacers for towing. They are installed from the factory for transporting.

It's pretty hard to spot these when the car is on the ground, due to the SS-1LE 20" wheels and low clearance.

Yeah, mine were still installed, too. They also didn't install the aero covers for the rear control arms. The dealership where I bought it didn't have any mechanics due to the mechanic strike.

What are these rear aero covers you speak of? Do you have a picture?

See the black plastic covers on the rear control arms here?

There are just 2 of those spacers? Not 4?

Just 2 in the front. From my understanding it's so the front end doesn't scrape/bottom out during transport or towing. Mine were left on by the dealer as well.

My guess is they are going through the generic PDI for the Camaro without paying attention to the 1LE/ZL1 section. That's got to be the only explanation, there's a clearly labeled checkbox for removing the spring stuffers.

There's also a giant sticker on the driver's side window from the factory telling dealer to remove them (in pictorial format no less). Unbelievable the incompetence of some PDI "techs" these days.

Our spacers were removed and lost. Wish they'd thrown them in the trunk for trailering.

For what it's worth, I saw my car immediately after it was driven off the truck and there were no warning stickers on the windows.

The PDI clearly says the spring stuffers are supposed to be retained for the customer. I think some techs just feel like they know enough that they don't need to use any silly checklist.

Interesting. Guess GM just decided to save the $ for stickers. Ours was an early build 2017, built in December.

I ordered my 1LE as soon as they allowed ordering and mine didn't even come with them. And yes they cracked the front splitter and had to replace it. It took about a month to come in. And look what I did at the autox this weekend. Uggghhh! Lol
Well the pic won't upload but let's just say the splitter doesn't hold up too well to eating cones. Lol
