Hole worn in floor mat @14k mi

I have an m6 and large feet. My foot lightly touches the lowest part of the dash while resting my heel on the carpet so I have to pivot on my heel a lot. I have worn a hole in the floor mat right there with only 14k miles. Has anyone else experienced wear this quickly there?

(Yes, I use the dead pedal when not disengaging the clutch)

Believe it or not, after only a year mine started to wear like that, I think the vans I usually drive in are sharp on the bottom. I went with aftermarket weather tech mats, not the liners, and have been happy since.

It's crazy. I didn't expect this so quickly. I wear Puma Sparco collab shoes that have a big rounded rubber part on the back. Guess I'll be looking into the weather techs so I don't also wear the carpet below.

I'd throw that in the garbage and get Lloyd Ultimats or even their Luxe mats. My Lloyd kit is from 2018 and the driver side mat has only the slightest amount of wear by the gas pedal and even less by the dead pedal.

Try these Coco Mats, they won't wear out and made in the USA. They are hand made to order. I live near the shop that makes these in house (not the material). They used my old back then 2017 2SS as a template for GEN6 Camaro. Great products. I have no affiliation with them other than I use their products.

My 4th gen had that problem. I've installed the plastic/rubber mats ever since. They are way easier to clean too.

Wasn’t impressed with the mats I got in the gen5 I had. They did the same thing. I got some Lloyds for my truck, they were great. Got some Lloyds for the gen5 and they weren’t much better than the factory mats. Very disappointed.

Go aftermarket or try out the OEM Camaro all-weather mats. I had them in both my gen6 and like the Camaro text with all-weather protection for the ground

Thanks everyone for the suggestions and info. I'll probably look into thick rubber mats for a bit more longevity.

It's funny you mention the front mat wearing and being an issue. I've only got 500 miles or so on my 2024 SS1 M6, and I've had a problem with my heel digging into the mat which has caused me to stall the car on several occasions. I've had manuals all of my life, and I find the clutch in the Camaro to be somewhat quirky. I almost feel it's the angle of the seating position, as I've never had a manual where I sit as low as I do in the Camaro. I sit with the seat as low as it can go, and have size 12 shoes. The throw of the clutch is too long to keep my heel on the mat and rotate my foot to let the clutch out. When I keep my heel on the mat, it gets "stuck" in the pile of the carpet as I let the clutch out, and since I can't rotate my foot enough to fully let the clutch out, it causes a bit of a problem. I can definitely see wearing a hole in the carpet within a few thousand miles.

I ordered the 3D MAXpider mats from Amazon for my 2SS and will be ordering a set for my ZLE also. They are much nicer than WeatherTech.

Factory Camaro mats are about as cheap as the paper liner the dealer installs before service. Get ya some Lloyd mats....

Totally agree. Ive grown up with manuals. My '94 was a manual and was super consistent. I find my '22 is quirky for sure. But yeh, mine is from rotating back and forth from clutch pedal to dead pedal without being able to lift my damn foot. I'm 6'4" w/ size 14 shoe and I'm pretty sure I'm at the max size limit for this car. Test drove a '24 auto with a sunroof for S & giggles and my head rested on the ceiling with the seat all the way down. Anyway, looks like this just might be a big foot problem.

Are you able to rotate those 14's enough to fully engage/disengage the clutch with your heel on the mat and not lift your foot ?
