Need Help with removing a simple virus :(

One of my friends came over to my house today and I stupidly let him use my wifes laptop. Now I have a virus.

I got instructions from a website on how to remove it, but the instructions are kinda lenghty. It has a malware scanner that just so happens to remove the virus. Well forgive me If I don't trust it as far as I can throw this laptop. So I'm looking for ideas.

I can one down load this supposed spyware malware scanner(which each website i find with removal instructions is different and has their own tool)

or I can go through the lenghty steps to remove it manually which i am half way right now, but i don't understand the rest of the instructions. which will tak eme time to decifer

or I am hoping you guys got a really good (free) removal tool that will get rid of it.

This is the virus that my stupid friend downloaded from a pornsite...

Just as a start, have you run Windows Defender? update it first.

In control panel

The virus isn't from a pr0n site. It's from the originator's website

Have you tried a system restore? If they've been disbaled by the virus, then try the steps here. Three easy steps.

All the above is good advise.
Don't you have virus protection like McAfee, or Norton?

Well I do have Mcaffe, but I had two computers to put it on because one just got back from the shop and one is being built as we speak. I must have gotten sidetracked at some point because it is on my desktop but not on my laptop. This is why having Attention Deficit Disorder sucks.

My memory is a serious problem in my life. I forget to do a lot of things.

I was very disappointed in myself when I realized that it wasn't there. I brought this on myself which is why I am not that angry about it. All I could say was...Damn.:( You get used to forgetting stuff in my condition.

Gotcha...My memory's not jewel either... So I bought a 2-year subscription and set the program to update and scan daily...I'd forget to tell it to otherwise.

Hey listen.

if you know how to edit registry files download the fre XoftSpySE by ParetoLogic.
If you want a SUPERB anitvirus use Kaspersky 9.0. You can download for free and try it for 30 days but it will prolly get rid of the virus immediatley for you.

Search in google for them.

GOODLUCK.

LOL, so was I. But I was also diagnosed as lazy by my parents and many of my friends. And I didn't feel like Typing "hyperactive".

If for some reason the above suggestions did not solve your problem, you can try downloading Malwarebytes, it has worked well for me in the past.
