$4400 later...
Well my 97 Tahoe is getting a new engine block.
wasnt planning on getting one or wanted one. but it started having problems so i had it checked out. They said the cylinder guide was damaged and the piston actually hit something a few times, cant remember what right now sorry. and it was going to cost 2475 to fix it and another one that was going bad. so my father and i decided, what the heck, whats another 1500 to get the entire engine block instead of just one part. i really didnt want to spend my bonus this quick. but crap happens right.

my father is the one who has been working with them mainly now. since it is actually his Tahoe. i took it and left him my jetta.
he said thats the price for all the parts and labor as well as tax. the fuel injection system and all of that stuff is not being replaced.

Ouch. Did you look at getting another motor from a scrap yard?
