Toyo R888Rs worked for me @ my power level but, are it the best rain or snow tire...

I swap out my factory stock tires & wheels for M/T drag radials mounted on an extra set of stock wheels when I hit the drag strip.

I do think the R888R's might be the best path for the street and then get a dedicated wheel/tire for the strip. I had planned to simply get the MT's and be done with it, but the feedback I have seen for the Nitto 555R has been really positive, so I might give that a shot first. BTW - I am in Austin (Round Rock) several times a year since our corporate office is there. We may need to catch up when I am in town.
