I have solo j-pipes on mine with muffler delete, load when you get on it, no drone when cruising. one of the best investments I've made . go to their web site.

I have a similar system, Borla Ataks ,x-pipe, electric cut-outs, HF cats, Borla headers. it's moderately loud, when I want it really loud hit the button for the cut-outs, they are right after the HF cats, very satisfied with the system,

Been there done that and thought it sounded great. Did the X pipe as well. After headers it was to high pitched and unrefined. Went to Corsa and never looked back. And drone comes from mufflers so you will have no drone by doing a muffler delete.

I actually had a scat pack straight pipe and that had drone so idk about mufflers being the root cause of drone all the time

2011 LS3 w/ muffler and resonator delete w/ h-pipe (had x-pipe but popped way too much). Sounds great and have been asked about it a lot b/c people like it.

I had a muffler delete... and I liked the sound, however with the L99, the AFM make things sound crappy so I got a Range to help with that. Now I'm tuned with LTH/HFC/Xpipe/axle back system.

What range are you using? I’ve heard of some throwing random codes from it so I’m 50/50 on that. Or can I go have it calibrated to turn it off for $150 instead

Drone is caused by the lower tones in the cabin. A straight pipe does not resonate at a lower tone. It's the mufflers. Did you delete all the resonaters as well on Scat Pack?

Yes, resonators as well.
I just bought a used borla catback so we’ll see
How it sounds. I would like to hear what this AFM sounds like when it kicks in. I don’t remember the AFM being annoying when I had my 6th gen with an axle back

When I had AFM, I had to use the paddle shifters to prevent it from engaging. Shift into M, left paddle into 1st, right paddle into 2nd, left paddle into 1st again, and voila, bye bye AFM

Because....why anyone would want to buy a Camaro SS and drive it around in 4 cylinder mode is beyond me. The day I drove mine home off the lot and looked up the "weird sound" that kept happening, I remember yelling NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Shoulda got the ZL-1, but oh well, here we are

When you say shift into M, do you mean I can do that while parked or when driving? Or is that just the way to deactivate it for that day or time driving the car?
I think I’m going to take it off, I found a guy that takes it off for $150.

Well its easiest just to do it right away when you start it up and put it in gear. Shifter all the way back, left, right, left on the paddles, don't do it too fast then you're good. It will deactivate AFM while you stay in M. Putting it in reverse or park or drive and it will turn back on.

You can also have it tuned out, which is probably what that guy will do, and it will keep the crappy AFM lifters in. I got new lifters from GMPP when I got my cam since the AFM lifters are weak and wouldn't be very happy spinning to 7600 RPM

How much life can I expect from the stock lifters?
Car has less than 30k miles. I plan to tune the AFM off as soon as next week

When I installed LT headers on my 2011 L99, she had 19k on the clock, then we did the cam swap at 98k, so that is how long I had my AFM lifters in there, and let me tell you, I was not kind to them either, many many trips to redline.. But I don't suggest too much of that because every engine is different and has it's own personality.
