This is what looks more likely now. What do you guys think?

I would not hang my hat on Sept 3 either. I have fealing there must be something wrong since they have not started production already. Maybe they found some issues that need addressed before they start actual production or maybe there is a problem with their parts suppply but there has to be a reason they have not already started production. The test mules are finished and usually productioon is with in a week or 2 after the driving of the test mules are finished. We will eventually hear why production was held up.

We were at the Woodward Dream Cruise this weekend, and well, yes there are issues. But we all knew that, right? It's a brand new car, and I am sure we all remember the first 5th gens with their battery cables, rear window issue, ect.

The good thing is, when we all get our C7's, they will be perfect, and we will be happy they took their time to do that

I agree. I would rather have it right then have it now with issues. Ther are bound to be issues with a car where every part except 2 are different from the C6. GM will get it right and then start production. Just saying dont hang your hat on a production start date.

I will say GM is doing better a keeping the problems hush hush than they did with the Camaro. We all knew what problems they were trying fix before hand.

Yes I believe an issue definitely came up because we don't usually see people going to 3400 and not being built the following week

Normally that would be true, however, this is a new model production first year, my dealers inventory manager said you could very well see the VIN and still no TPW. 3400 means internal order generated, being there are a number of orders at 3400 they could be staging orders so when production starts they are ahead of the game. They can detail the internal orders and not build for a week or two, again this is in the first year only situation.

Yes I have seen where cars were produced and VINned w/o a TPW even in post first year model lines but 3400 almost always results in 3800 sometime in the following week. And sometimes one goes to 3800 (car is assembled) but may not get the VIN for a week or two.

These status levels exist for GM and its assembly plants, not for its retail customers. It is fun getting a peek at the process these give us but we should not forget these level changes are not generated for us.

I completely agree with you. So, for me I'll wait until next year or later to make my purchase. Sorry, I just can't go against avoiding the purchase of a first year model of any vehicle.

Silver lining in it for me is that the longer it takes them to build my order, the more time I have to build up a bigger down payment and get my monthly payment lower. If it goes into next year at all, I may be buying this thing without a loan at all. LOL

Heck, lets bribe someone on the inside.

Or we could just request a fly by from one of the local small plane owners up there with a video camera running. Call some of the BG flight schools they are always up for a little extra bucks.
