I can't speak for the experience with the stock Goodyear's as I am saving them for track use. All that being said, the ride with the PS4S is still punishing. Keep in mind I am comparing it to my previous C7 Z06 with Mag ride. I knew what I signed up for as my use is mostly track.

ZLE rides like a Muscle car that performs like a supercar. In my opinion it looks better, drives better, tracks better, brakes better bounces on bumps in the road better. Its a bad ass car that drives like it is suppose to. All the hype about the way it drives made me worried when I bought mine too. Its awesome and can't wait to get behind the wheel of it every time I'm able to drive it. Ive had several Corvettes and Camaros over the years and none of them are equal to the ZLE. Just a really cool car.

People have to realize how good the ZL1 is with the Mag Ride. It is a car that straddles the Jekyll and Hyde character the best. A dual weapon for the street + track.
The ZL1 1LE is mostly a one trick pony (in the best way possible) with a track biased orientation. If you aren't at least sneezing near a track at least 40% of the time - it ain't worth it.

I love my ZLE. Yes over crappy road, the ride can be a bit stiff and you hear all the rattles. Lol. But there is something very satisfying knowing what suspension you have. That you can whip it into a corner and have it hang tight and stay planted. I love taking canyon roads.
Plus, the splitter, canards, wing, grill, mirrors, etc just make it look so mean. Comes down to personal preference. I personally dont mind the ride as a daily driver, but my commute to work is not long at all. So i can see it not being ideal for people driving more than 50 miles round trip each day. But it really isnt that bad. For perspective, i previously drove a 2ss with mag ride. |

So evidently people are more sensitive to the ride than others. There are people that align with your thinking but also quite a few that align with my thoughts. So the only way for anyone to know is to drive one and see which camp they belong too. Btw, I have back issues and have had a herniated disc about 6 years ago. This car doesn't hurt my back.at all except for it being low and having to bend down to get in. Once seated it's a great experience every time. Also my commute is 21 miles one way to work. So 42 mile round trip.

I think Chevy needs to market/answer this question with a video. This question comes up way too often.

I’ve literally had this discussion with a friend who just got a 2019 Z06, says it rides exactly like his Corvette (Yes I have a ZL1-1LE and not a regular Mag ride ZL1) hell even my GF says it rides fine.. we’ve taken it on road trips of 1.5hrs plus and it rides better than my Cobalt SS/SC that I used to have on coilovers

You people want a harsh ride? Come for a ride in my 18000 pound F550. Or how about a single wheel 3500 Dodge Ram? You’re buying a top performance vehicle with killer handling characteristics and you want a plush ride? Go for a ride in a Audi R8 or Lambo Diablo, Gallardo, Dodge Viper. Let me know how they ride. Lol. |
