Soooo...I keep hearing so much grief about the suspension for normal driving. Is it THAT bad? My Hellcat will rattle teeth in track mode, but I could live with it. How much worse is the 1LE?

I daily drive my charger hellcat in sport mode. I agree track mode is too stiff. That said, it's still way smoother than thr ZL1 1LE's ride.

I love the ZL1 1LE but the words smooth and ride will never exist in the same sentence describing this car. I'm glad I'm a guy because if I had tits they would hurt after a drive in this car.

That said... the hellcat is a living room on wheels with a nuclear reactor pushing it. The ZL1 1LE is a sports car. Buy it and enjoy. And if you do have tits, wear two sports bras...

LOL!!!!!!!!!

After watching "The Smoking Tire One Take" on the ZL-1 1LE, i knew i would not be trading my ZL1 in. Seeing Matt Farah's tits bounce convinced me of that! LOL!!!!!!!

All this talk about ride quality and bouncing tits makes me think I need to take some babe with huge tits for a fast ride on a rough road in track mode and enjoy the view

I own a 5th gen Z/28 and a ZL1 1LE (which I picked up today). I was pleasantly surprised by the ride quality of the ZL1 1LE - it's better than the Z/28.

Is this true.. I have a 2015 Z/28 Im selling and Im getting ready to pull the trigger on a 1LE... The Z/28 is pretty firm.. but harder than the 1LE? Any other Z/28 guys make the switch?

Check this thread: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=554839

FWIW I only drove a Z/28 for a bit (never owned it - was considering buying it) but my brain recalls it being harsher than the ZLE I have right now. However it wasn't a back to back drive. I find the ZLE to be perfectly acceptable while the Z/28 was more of a "I'll live with it" situation.

If there is one thing that allows me to forgive the car's stiffness, it is the A10.
I recently drove Miami to Florida Keys and the ride was great... I will dare to call it smooth; however, on the way back I was in more of a rush to get home and had some bumpy miles -nothing crazy, but if you are older and stuff hurts your back, a non 1LE Z is the way to go.

RIDE quality

Ok Well first off I will sacrifice comfort for performance. The ride quality on the ZL1 1LE is as advertised one the most track capable cars EVER. The car has pulled a 1.2G in a corner so with that type cornering ability, you can expect that your ass is going to be thrown around quite a bit. At more sane speeds, the car is very very firm to the point where I would guess 80-90% of people will think it is too harsh. I am in the 10% that will cope with it but my suggestion for anyone buying one is to definitely test drive it first, For a daily driver the magnetic ride would be a better choice for most.

With all that being said, the ZR1 will definitely out handle a ZL1 1LE and it has a much better overall ride. The Zl1 is a little easier to drive in my opinion at the limits but the ZR1 is not quite as twitchy during directional changes.

I've got 8100 miles on my ZLE of daily driving on non rainy days. I've enjoyed ever single mile and don't ever recall thinking this car sure rides rough. My wife has never said a thing about how rough it rides either. I don't live in pothole city so maybe that's why the ride seems smooth to me. The seats are very comfortable which probably helps dampen some of it. The vibration in the car is more aggrevating than the ride on rougher surface country roads.

It will rattle you and your passengers unless your roads are absolutely perfect (Like Germany). Track First, Street - a distant Second.

If you are only hitting the track 30% of the time, go for the regular ZL1.

I am planning a road trip from MD to North Jersey this weekend with my wife and toddler...as an experiment in pain. I will report back on my wife's feedback.

The rear shocks in the A10 ZL1 1LE are softer which might explain why you didn't complain so much.

Apparently the 6MT ZL1 1LE is the purest iteration of the car therefore, it is stiff and will require your spleens to be fixed by a chiropractor. Again, all of this will be less of an issue in areas where the tarmac is super smooth. Forget driving into major cities as you and the car WILL hurt.

Take the stock tires off the ZLE and go with the Michellin PS4s. I finally did it 3 weeks ago and I couldn't be happier.

I spent an entire 6 months thinking "how much difference can changing the tires make in the stiffness of the ride".

the answer: 1000% difference. Car becomes very enjoyable to drive.
