Finally joined the club!
My car was ordered first in July 2017 from a local dealership (that I have bought 10 Camaros off of)...they couldn't get an allotment...then it was reordered in November 2017. Had the deals all worked out...Dealership agreed if it came in during the dead of Winter that the deal was still good.
ZL1 came in the 3rd week of January. Dealership said Camaro market was depressed and sales of New and used Camaros were slow, so they could only give me 24K for my 2016 SS (instead of 31K) and the customer Loyalty and Chevy cash wasn't available either, so I would have tore come up with 11K. I TOLD THEM TO SHOVE IT! My poor ZL1 sat on the showroom floor for almost a Month with the 8 miles I put on it. My 16 y/o son took his girlfriend in last Friday and said it was still there, a smart mouth young saleman told my son while he was looking at it "that maybe someday you can afford a car like that"....My son told the idiot that I was the one who ordered it, and the dealership screwed me over, and I was going to get one from another dealership. So Saturday morning, I went in to the dealership, saw my salesperson and mgr and told them if they gave me the agreed upon deal, I would drive the car out today....They asked how much more money was I going to put down, and I said not a dime....and left. Yesterday my salesperson called me while I was on my way home from work and said, "when do you want to pick your car up"? Puzzled, I said what are you talking a bout....the salesperson said the original deal was on if I still wanted the car. They ended up giving me 31,900 for my car, my GM employees discount, plus the other? So the Z deal was even better than before???? Here he is! |

Congrats! You earned this one! lol Sharp Looking
What am I looking at under the third brake light, above the bowtie? Looks like red lettering of some kind? PS: You have a nice list of GM muscle. I’ve owned five Camaros, two of them were silver (98 and 2010). All SS’s or Z28/IROCS. I have also owned a silver 2006 GTO. Your newest, the ZL1 is on another level though! ☝

Wow, good for you on sticking to your guns. Sounds as if it payed off for you. Dont think any dealer wants to set on these cars as they are a niche market and costly. to set on.

Very nice car! Your license plate looks crooked though. Did your dealer do like some of ours and ignore the premarked holes and just drill wherever?
