Any good diving/spearfishing around?
The host motel is the Holiday Inn Express in Sturgis. I have heard that it is filled, but cancellations do happen. That motel is located at I-90 Exit 30 in Sturgis. There are two other motels at that exit. They are the Days Inn and the Super 8. There are also two motels at Exit 32. They are a Best Western and a Knights Inn.

In addition, there are literally thousands of other motel rooms within about 30 miles of Sturgis.

I am not a diver, but I know that a few people do dive in Pactola Lake. Here is one site which mentions that. See the last paragraph. (I don't know that there is any spearfishing. I am not even sure if that is legal here.)

Who knows...maybe I can find a way to come to Sturgis from the other side of the country. I might have my new car by then...

It was fun last year, but as others have said, it's quite expensive. I'd rather spend that money on mods and upgrades, and then maybe next year I'll go, which a much improved performance vehicle.

As an aside, I still have the numbers on my windshield from last year.

Not really sure - haven'[t quite planned that part out yet. Would be fun to hook up and drive over together. Last year we met some "strangers" in Wyoming and ended up camarovanning over with them. Ended up hanging out with them the entire weekend. They are from Montana. Would be fun to meet up with the Washington peeps and all going together!

I'm sad that we won't be able to cruise with you guys this year! We enjoyed it, and would recommend anyone thinking about it to "just do it"!

Where is everyone staying in Spokane?

We're heading down from northern BC and maybe we could hook up when you stop in Billings. Do you know where you guys will be staying in Billings yet?
Still figuring the best way to go.

Looks like my schedule opened up and can go! Is there an itinerary? Meeting here, leaving this time, staying here? Any Portland/SW Washington folks going?
so now do I take the 5th gen or or trailer the newly finished 73 2nd gen?

I'm planning on going as of now. But won't know for sure until a few weeks before. I live in Billings!

We will leave Spokane on the morning (early) of the 25th, overnight in Billings, arrive in Sturgis on the afternoon of the 26th.
There wasn't a lot of 2nd and 3rd gens there last year, might be worth it. Mipe P is trailering his 1st gen so you'd have company.

Thinking we might be able to meet up and camarovan this year. Can't wait to hear what the plans are and where you will be staying in Billings.

Great! We'll be firming it up closer to June but I'm pretty sure it will be the same place as last year.
