It's not any different to give Sherman a pass for his antics in the on field interview with the reasoning being 'Cut him some slack, he just won a really big game and was pumped up' as it is for Crabtree to say 'Cut him some slack, he just lost a really big game'.

Of course losing a game, even a big game, is not any excuse but true sportsmanship isn't shown when you win. It's shown when you lose. It's easy to be a good sport when you win. I absolutely saw Sherman as being a smart ass prick immediately when he went up to Crabtree on the field. Saw later that he may have been sincere. I can EASILY see how Crabtree could have misunderstood his intentions. It was out of character for Sherman to not be a smartass in that situation considering their history.

So, as an outsider who doesn't give a shit either way, I'd say this has been blown WAY out of proportion. The media LOVES this shit. And so do the fans.

Fanatics + percieved bad guy + bullshit victim + media = absolute stupidity

We've seen that right here with 1st State Chevrolet
the mainstream media...yep , that and Justin Bieber's antics the only thing important in this country now

I can't really say if he meant that sincerely or disrespectfully, but it was more disprespectful to shove your hand in someone's face, than to say "hell of a game" and have your hand out for a slap or shake. Also, if Sherman was really taunting crabtree at that point, i don't think he would have been as hyped up and "upset" during his interview. Because he would have already known he was instigating. So really, the evidence provides more that Sherman was sincere about his comment about "hell of a game", than being disrespectful.

also, i've played football for many years, and i've never seen one player slap another players butt, when trying to instigate or be disrespectful. It's usually a genuine "good job". if sherman was trying to be disrespectful, he would have bumped into him, or not touched him at all. He would also have said something other than "hell of a game". People that are labeling Sherman as a thug, are the one's that aren't too bright.

I agree with PMC. None of that on either side was warranted. Period.

That said, September can't get here soon enough. I have more leagues to win.

as much as I don't want to see a 1/2 million Sherman , Russel & Lynch video clips & links... I want to see another loss for Manning, really need to keep the "he can't win the big games" talk alive.
So go Seahawks and I'll stay out of this thread after the game !!!

Regardless of the outcome, it's going to be a VERY good game. Even if I wasn't a fan of either team, I would be excited to see the #1 Offense face the #1 Defense. It's only happened 5 times since 1970 (and the #1 Defense brought home the win 4 of those )

When Peyton injured his neck it was said he may never play again, the Colts traded him after 11 years the only team he knew in Favor of Andrew Luck. Now here he his maybe the most skilled player at the position ever, having overcome the adversity putting together the greatest season of his career how would it not be fitting for the man to get the ring this year?
