I was going to edit that post but I don't mind looking like an idiot. My voltages were way off. Here is a video I just took. I wired it up in parallel with my wife's cooled seats and viola it works and with voltages.

https://youtu.be/kri0lECyPHo

Like you said, we just need a way to controlled it. Maybe a resistor, I don't need speeds, wide open is fine with me, lol

Yep 2 switches would be perfect for me! One for max cool and one for max heat!

Recap correct voltages on blue wire:
High 1.23v
Med 2.88v
Low 4.55v
Off 12.7v

Red wire has 12.7 all the time, and black is ground (obviously)

I'm not super electronic savvy so if it's PWM or not, I'm not sure. I hope not because you could just run a resistor across the red and blue and make it one speed all the time.

Switches are easy. Multiple options.
If someone runs across a wire diagram we can get it figured out. I'm sure there is a tap somewhere on the CAN we can use.
I thought about using the climate control with the seat buttons already. It is on CAN, but requires other sensors to make function. I haven't had much luck with the 2017 system finding info.
The memory seats have a separate module connected to the switch.

So yes the fan spins but do we have that vented foam? Should be able to feel it through the seat.

I bought some resistors and crap, I have minimal knowledge of this kinda stuff but I found a diagram on how to get 12v down to 1.25v so I'm gonna try that and see if it blows thru the seat.

If we could find buttons like above that have the built in resistors it would make this a breeze. I plan on using 12v from the cigarette plug.

The 2LT has heat/vent seats without memory as standard. So comparing the harness could tell us a lot about which pins do what.

So I got my contraption all wired up and got 1.25v out of it. Supplied the red with 12.5v, black to ground and the 1.25v to the blue and..................NOTHING!!!! Either I'm missing something here or this may need PWM power.

On another note, the car has all the fuses in the fuse box for heated/vented seats installed. We need an insider at GM to tell us whats going on and how to activate this.

If it's can there is no ground.
The switch would be supplied with 12v and the volts would be send determined by the speed setting. Each wire on the fan would be a different voltage. Sometimes it can be a closed loop system where only volts need to be send, some need info to be sent back to complete the loop and operate.
Edit: what type of car did you try this on where it worked?
I'll grab that diagram and see what I see.

I think its pretty safe to say if they didn't bother to remove the fans then they certainly didn't bother to use 2 different types of foams. These are the exact seats that come in a 2LT 1LE. I would bet a paycheck that all the stuff is there we just have to figure out how to wire them.

These 1LEs are full of surprises, like getting the ZL1's in tank fuel pump.
