Thumbs up I install xpipe for the L99

after a lot of reading and negative replys about x pipe and the afm

yesterday i install the bbk x pipe+after cat pipes and corsa xtreme already there.
results:

awesome sound, deep and agressive with zero drone
by the way the AFM on
ya it keep changing between v4/v8 u'll hardly notice it

for me it was good experience

I have a 13 SS with an x-pipe on my Hooker Blackheart cat-back. I had to have AFM disabled because my drone was really noticable. I would recommend getting a tune and having it disabled anyway. Imo a v8 muscle car is SUPPOSED to run on all 8 all the time. If I wanted to run v4 around town i'd have bought a honda. Just my opinion.

ya for that to disable the AFM in my country it will cost over $350
range device also another problem the seller will not ship to us!

anyway, with corsa and bbk xpipe i have no drone
my friends told me because i had the zl1 corsa kit, so it has a butterfly shape inside the mufflers that will give a nice tone with no drone at all

Kind of funny, hardly notice. The stock exhaust was too much notice for me. I'm glad you're happy, but it will be interesting to see how long you can stand it.

That 350$ should also include a performance tune though.

How much louder was the exhaust after the x pipe. I'm wanting to get an x pipe put on mine here soon. I have the mufflers deleted right now and just want the exhaust to be a bit louder than it is now.

It's louder.....with a different tone. I really like the car with the x pipe. As far as louder...it's like going from a 5 on the volume dial to a 7. If you know what I mean.

I agree. I like it too. I put a Jeg's X-pipe on mine. It's hard to say how much louder it got though... My car has headers and hi-flo cats, which is different than the OPs car.... It also had a muffler delete when I first added the X-Pipe.

When I added the X-Pipe, my loudness went from a 5 to a 12. It sounded like a race car. It would wake the dead. I had no idea the stock L99 resonator did that much muffling of sound. My solution was to add a GMPP axle back. Now it's perfect... perfect for me, anyways.

I think we have the same setup.....headers. .hi flow cats ....muffler delete. It's loud for sure but I like loud..it does sound good. Maybe one day I'll add mufflers again. Its just not today.
