Unhappy This is my first problem. please help me!

3 or 4 months ago I got new tires from Ourisman Chevrolet after that the first hick up happened at a stop light it was in drive but felt like the trans was stuck I just gave it a little gas and it jumped a little I did not think much of it at the time until....

2 week ago I was driving home from class around 10:00PM. I was on the highway going about 55mph ,I went to change lanes and the cars transmission made a awful noise and the rpms shot up to about 5500rpm after it did that the car was slowing down and making a low howl like sound. I realized that I could not make it to the shoulder so I gave it a little gas and it jumped in to gear hard.

The next morning I had made a appointment to Ourisman Chevrolet. I waited 3 days for the appointment when I got there I handed them the keys and a few hours later they told me that it was my speed limiter that I had set to 45mph so they removed it and said it was fine. Less than 30mins later after receiving the car the it started jumping gears more aggressively so I went back and they told me to leave the keys and they will look at it again tomorrow so I did. 2 days later I got the car back and they said everything was fine but when I was leaving the lot the car had slipped a gear so I thought it was in my head so I drove about 2 miles and the car felt a lot worse and was still jumping/slipping gears so I went back and the dealer. Service department was closed but I could make a appointment

I don't know what to do I've had the car for 2 1/2 years and it has only has 14,000 miles on it. Should I go to a different dealer? Has this happened to anybody?

Ask to go for a test drive with them, or find a dealer who is actually interested in working with you.

Hi Arthur,

What a bummer to hear you are experiencing this transmission concern! I can understand why this would be frustrating. Feel free to drop me a PM if this is something you would like me to look into for you. Please include your full contact information, VIN, current mileage, and involved dealership.

Find a Cadillac dealer. They seem to do much better than Chevy dealers in our area. Hop on dealerrater.com and check out your options.

Which Ourisman, Arthur? There are four in the DC area. Do you mean Ourisman Buick/GMC/Chevy in Alexandria, VA?
