Seems some of the C8 guys are miffed

After all the hype about being a new design and mid engine to boot it still can't beat the ZL1 front engine rear wheel design. Shows you how special the current ZL1 and 1LE's really are.

Guess 25% more hp is hard to overcome no matter what the form factor. Did it have FE4 suspension?

Yeah and what's isn't mentioned is the actual difference in power is ~100 hp at the wheels, maybe less, not 155 hp.

LT4 rated power is 650 hp WITHOUT the power required to drive the supercharger, so they're +200 hp over the LT1, but dynos show the LT1 at just over 400 hp and the LT4 at about 550 hp at the wheels, so that's not the 200 hp difference rated at the crank. AFAIK the drivetrain losses are identical or close to it. LT2 drivetrain losses are likely even less as it's a dry sump motor with a brand new tranny that's sure to be extremely efficient.

Seems about right that times would be close, ZL1 has more power but more weight. Both can handle really well and generate great skidpad numbers.

The ring time is like a dyno...different days different cars, different dynos = never a true comparison result. The ring is actually worse, different car, different day, different driver, road conditions, tires used etc = never a true comparison result. Now granted if a car is clocked more than a few seconds of X car in general I believe one to be faster, but if its within a second I call it a draw and keep it moving...imangine arguing with someone over your car being faster than his car because of a one second Ring time verdict....LOL

I love my ZL1 and waiting patiently for the Z06, and even entertaining the thought of by passing the Z06 and saving for the Zora if it comes out, if not, Ill get my Performante Hurrican to check the box, with my 1000whp ZL1 still holding its own

What gives me the headache is the funny numbers people come up with to support there argument. Sad days indeed.

Comparing the Camaro and Corvette is apples to oranges IMO.

I like the comment about the “sleep inducing” Ring run. Anybody who can watch that ZLE run and fall asleep deserves a Prius. Or maybe a Powerchair....

The whole Corvette Forum will give you a headache then. Most of the comments - the majority of which are negative - (not critical) ones - are from non-owners.

Even after owning a C5 Z06 and a C6 with Z51, I still prefer the driving experience of my 1SS 1LE. It’s just more fun.

seriously... oh the base model corvette didn't beat the top of the line Camaro?

come on.. The new C8 has AMAZING performance for where the platform is at right now. It's showing you what it's going to be capable of. Just wait until the Z06 comes out, it's going to be a game changer.
