Seat Mounting Bolt

I'm replacing my leather seat covers for ZL1 covers and when I took out one of the bolts the threads were in rough shape and didn't make for a fun time taking it out. Needless to say I need a new bolt, but can't find the part number anywhere. Can someone please tell me the part number so I can order it and put my interior back together.

You could always take the old bolt to a local hardware store and have them match it for you. I changed mine out to a standard head style as the torx head was a pita to deal with.

Those stock bolts suck to remove. I removed my seats this past weekend for the first time. It's like they dipped the entire thing in red locktite and just for good measure, poured some into the threads on the floorboard.

One thing I found was the threads on the bolts seem to be a little different than the threads on the speed nut on the floor. I went to clean the threads on both the bolts and speed nuts, the nuts were M10x1. 50 and my tap cleaned them out easily. But using a die the same specs to clean the threads on the bolt didn't work. It's actually began to cut new threads into the bolt. Never encountered anything like it before. So I ended up using new bolts. I had some the correct size in my spare bolt bin and used those. Also used a bolt with a standard hex head. Made installation a lot easier.

Yeah I thought about just getting a bolt from the local hardware store, but my OCD won't let me but a silver bolt on the black rails. Not like anyone is going to see it anyway, I just can't bring myself to do it.

Could always paint them, I've done this in the past.

You can order bolts that have a black coating on them.

If you're using a silver bolt, you're using the wrong bolt. I'm using black grade 8, 13mm bolts with a flanged head.

The metric equivalent to grade 8 is 10.9.
