Exhaust oppinions
I know this question has been asked probably 1000 times but I would like your thoughts on which exhaust system works the best for a 2010 camaro SS LS3 with 23,000 miles. I just bought the car yesterday after dreaming since I was 6 years old of owning a camaro. Anyway, I want a loud, aggressive sound but I absolutely do not want to suffer a performance loss. I talked to some guys at a few exhaust shops and they mentioned some systems may cause a loss of bottom end power. Thanks in advance!

I've had no issues with the Borla Atak Cat Back. I'd also recommend a Roto Fab CAI. Works great and woke my car up a bit!

There are a lot of good exhaust systems out there that will give you what you are looking for performance and sound wise, it mostly comes down to personal preference in regards to sound and what you are looking doing (full exhaust, CAT back, axle back, etc.). Personally, I went with the Flowmaster axle back system and really like it; it, along with the K&N CAI I add, gave it the sound I was looking for and may have even added a little performance wise.
As I and other's have said in other threads on this subject, IMO the best thing to do is to look up and get with your local Camaro club and check out some of the setups on their Camaros. Not only will you get a good idea of how various setups sound, they will be able to answer your performance questions as well.

The guys at that shop don't know what they are talking about. A freer flowing exhaust does not lose bottom end power. It will wake the car up a little bit and you really need a better exhaust system, over the factory, if you plan on modding your car. I went with Stainless Works chambered exhaust and long tube headers. It is the perfect sound for the car IMO and it is really loud at WOT. Gives it an old school muscle car sound.

What are your thoughts on JBA competition exhaust? I am thinking about that as its fairly inexpensive and seems to have a loud, aggressive sound. This car is not a daily driver but a garage, fair weather car.

I have the same year and model as you. This is the exhaust I have and it sounds great.

Long tube headers and a tune! You won't be disappointed, but if you still want more sound it's easy to add from there.

You need to evaluate your ultimate exhaust goals, as you need to start your plan from the header back. If you're going to headers and high-flow/no cats, that will dramatically change what you do with the cat-back. The factory cats are a significant restriction, and also significantly muffle the exhaust. If you're keeping everything stock back through the cats, then you will probably want a very aggressive setup. If you're going headers and high-flow/no cats then you might find that some of those "aggressive" setups are more than you want for noise.
The poster above had the right idea, get out with your local car crowd and/or Camaro club to listen to a bunch of different cars. That'll help you make some decisions on what you want to do.

Just putting high flow cats in the stock system sounds very, very good. And, unlike cat back systems, you gain noticeable power.

Headers and noweeds cutouts was the best choice I ever made. Quiet in the morning when I leave for work but louder than you could ever ask for when you want. Sounds even better after a cam swap!
