I recently purchased an awesome 2012 RS convertible. It's my understanding that the RS is basically an LT with some added features. But I've seen people talking about their RS and saying it's an "RS LT" or "2LT." What's the difference in these? I ask because I'm trying to figure out what exactly I have. Thanks.

(This is it. But when I purchased it, it was just a plain silver RS. I added all the decals and painted the fuel door and wheels. Still going to add a few other things to the appearance. Cold air intake should be here tomorrow. And I've purchased a tuner/chip for it.)

First of all, welcome to the forums and congrats on your new to you Camaro!

The RS is an option package on a 1LT, 2LT, 1SS, or 2SS vehicle. To tell if you have a 1LT or a 2LT the easiest indicators are leather or cloth seats and whether you have the 4 gauge cluster in the console under the radio. 1LT's have cloth seats and do not have the gauges while 2LT's have leather and the gauges.

That's a very nice looking machine!!! I like the stripes a lot. Looks like blacked out SS wheels on it?

2lts also have heads up display and leather and heated seats

Ok. Yea, mine is loaded. It has everything. The interior is exactly like a 2ss I looked at. And yea, I painted the wheels and gas lid. I also put the stripes on it. I think they make the car look more aggressive. Ive got the decals to darken all the lights. I'm going to black out everything sound the headlights and tail lights. My first car was a 1991 RS t-top. I got it my senior year of high school.(2000). My sister totaled that car when she wrecked it the second time. (And yes,....I'm still bitter about that! Lol). Ever since then, I wanted another camaro. I finally was able to get one and I'm having so much fun with it.

Nice 91, color & T-tops. Easy to tell RS comes on LT & up, if you have leather seats, it's most likely a 2LT. My 1LT, original owner added leather option at the dealer, so I call mine 1.5LT.

Best of luck, how many miles and yes, Keep keys away from your sis!

RS was always an option on the 5th gen. Not available on an LS.
It was never included with any model.

- Leather, Hud, no hood vent / slit - 2LT
- Halo headlights - RS option.

Isn't the hood vent and slot a SS option only?
