2018 zl1 1le headers, advice please.

I own my car for the last year, was stock and I felt it was a bit to quiet. First thing I did was a borla s type catback system (I dont like the atak which is way to raspy for me), roto fab big gulp, smaller upper pulley and a tune. Everything else is stock lol and wanted advice on headers. whats a good brand, I like to spend money lol I dont want to delete my cats so I can pass inspection in Jersey, just want the car a bit louder, but here is the kicker not to loud. Would headers really wake this car up to a point that it will be way to loud? Its quiet when in idle and I wanted to wake that up a bit. Thanks in advance.

With the cat back you already have, a set of ARH with HF cats will likely be too loud, although that part is highly subjective. Do you still have your stock cat-back? After you do the headers, you may want to put the stock cat back on...

After i did my ARH + HF cats, and an AWE touring kit, the car was WAYYYYY to loud with drone, so i added a magnaflow center X muffler that not only eliminated the drone, but it really deepened the exhaust tone, and I receive TONS of compliments and questions about the tone, anytime im out... the cam also helps

If you are only wanting better idle volume, but quite WOT volume, consider a set of electric cut-outs before your mufflers.

So my car has npp which honestly I never use. My current driving setup is sport mode with track mode npp. Someone recommended borla 60608 to add when putting headers. Would that make it where its not crazy loud? Also, do you have a video of your exhaust current setup, insta or youtube?

Headers with Stock NPP is the way to go IMO. Not too loud but loud. Best decision I made and I wasn't sure when I did it.

I heard a ZL1 with long tube headers and a Borla Atak NPP axleback from up close several times, and it wasn't very loud, except at WOT. The Borla has a softer, deep rumble to it, not obnoxious at all. (Of course everything is subjective in this area, but I think I know what you mean by "crazy loud".)

Just saw the video, yep yep your car is a beast alright. No cams for me, not looking for more power, at least not yet. Just more rumble while a little extra power from the headers of course wouldnt hurt too.

Incredible!!! But doesnt really help much for what I am looking for, cam is way to loud for me and when the procharger kicks in its a whole different ball game.

I guess the difference is I am looking for more rumble not really more power. I am currently very satisfied with the power I get right this moment, of course thats gonna change eventually. Just wondering what would good quality headers sound like on a stock zl1 and what is considered good quality headers.

I track my car fairly often, and on most tracks I get black flagged for noise. At idle or normal cruising speed, it's barely louder than stock, not at all obnoxious. WOT is a whole different story though, it's loud as hell. I picked up some slip in baffles after getting black flagged at Camarofest. So far they have allowed me to stay under the dB limits at my local tracks. I would definitely recommend staying with the factory NPP exhaust and running cats when adding headers.

Yours would be a tad quieter with the stock cam. No drone in the cabin, only loud when you stomp on the skinny pedal.
