Well, driving my Sea-Doo and Cobalt back to back, leaves me wanting more out of my Cobalt. Then i look down at the speedo and realize just how fast i am going...

That exhaust is WAY too quiet. The Mustang GT sounds awesome, GM needs to use that as a benchmark.

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

Ummm, not really. Found an 06 Z06 locally with 5100 miles on the clock for $47K. The 06 Z06 is 505HP. That's far from half the cost, granted it's used, but 5100 miles.....hardly.

Quiet while cruising is good. I'm sure it comes alive at WOT.

That's the same argument the Mustang folks have about value...a USED Mustang is more bang for the buck than your NEW Camaro! Pwned! |

WOAH....
You had an SS Camaro...at Sherway Gardens Chapters?! God damn. I live 5 minutes away.... No one tells me anything. I think if I saw it on the Queensway I would have a heart attack!

I hear what you guys are saying on the exhaust thing. I will say with my '99 Z28 it sounded pretty quiet for the first 5K miles. Then it really started to open up a bit. I had a few people ask me what exhaust I had on it. They were surprised to hear it was stock. I spent a lot of time in the upper RPM range to get it that way though. The one thing I DON'T want is a "muffler job". I have heard cars and especially trucks with a muffler job. I had a friend with a 425 hp lingenfelter package on his Z28 and it sounded awesome. I am anxious to hear what the GMPP exhaust sounds like.

Anyone in their right mind would know that the Camaro and Corvette are totally two different cars. One is an exotic (muscle) sports car, while the other is just a sports (muscle) car. For the price of a Camaro, it would only take a little bit of over the counter parts to make it run with the corvette. Of course it would take more if you were running against the new 505hp vette's.

LOL! You guys are right, what was I thinking comparing a 425hp Camaro to a 405hp Corvette???
Let me try again...We all loved the car and couldn't believe the "snap" it had compared to my wife's Honda Odyssey....and it sounded even better than a Lumina at idle! Happy Now?

Sarcasm off. Thank for the video and images as well as your thoughts. I never imagined it would feel like an older Z06 so my expectations haven't been tarnished by your words in the slightest. I am thinking it will feel more like a very fast G8 and I'm wonderfully happy with that thought. |

Yes Hylton, it did have a cloth strip across the dash. We were trying to figure out what that was...a speaker??? It looked out of place in the car. I'd also prefer a brighter shade of silver on the wheels. The front grille etc. looks really good in person.
