JRE Flex Fuel Build begins - Help Please!

Hey Fellas, my long awaited build is ready to begin. Just picked up my headers from the shop this morning and the ZL1 will go up on jack stands when I get home from work.

I have the following to install:

DSX Flex Fuel Sensor
JMS Low Side Booster
Rotofab CAI (already installed)
LT5 TB
TSP 2" LT's (cat delete)
MSD Wires
NGK Plugs
AEM wideband & Banks Super Gauge (ZZ Performance A Pillar mount)

I have a little mechanical aptitude, but by no means am I "Joe Mechanic". Many of you guys have a lot of experience with the ins and outs of installing these mods. If I could get some advice and/or tricks you learned with your installation, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I just finished installing the same mods only difference is I used ARH headers.

Where do I start so many things that you need to be aware of.

1. DSX currently have an issue with no power. Which I believe I found the problem bad terminal. Just make sure you are on pin 38. And inspect the terminal before installing.

2. JMS look up a thread by LiqTenExp he explains it perfectly. Also you will need HP tuners to set up output.

3.Headers I had a problem fitting then in I tried and couldn't get them in and I scratched the coating. Best bet is install BMR mounts or loosen oem mounts and rise the motor.

4.MSD and plugs make sure they don't rub against headers.

5.AEM make sure you have a bung welded on the headers. Also I wrote up how I got the wire from gauge to bung.

Refer to these. I installed the same package (except CSP 2" catless headers) as you, gauges and all. These links are perfect.

Are you doing remote tuning with Ted?

I just finished a couple of weeks ago remote tuning with him and it was a great experience. Learned a lot and the car is solid. Love it!!!

When we installed ARH 2” long system, the BMR mounts made the install so easy especially with the passenger side header. If you install the motor mounts, grab some coolant because it’s easier to install drivers side mount with oil cooler line removed.

We also wrapped the harness on the passenger side and moved that harness away from the headers. Wrapped some lines running close to the headers around the collector area.

This was on an SS but I can’t see how all of this wouldn’t apply to your header install.

You’re in very good hands.

Looking forward to hear what you think of it once it’s sorted out.

Ted is doing the tuning. Definitely look forward to the experience. However, I am a little nervous about the HP Tuner side of it. It will be interesting to see how many stupid questions I can come up with

All you guys, thanks for your help!

I've had my JRE flex fuel setup now for around 5 months. It's absolutely a blast to drive and I haven't had any issues with it. I suspect you guys will have the same results. Ted was awesome to work with!
